Probably one of the most important things that people in today’s world need to focus on is the world itself. We are over-using so many resources that we are sure to permanently damage the earth. The world faces so many challenges that could be solved by “going green.” Climate changes, water and food, population growth, and exhaustion of natural resources are just a few of the issues the world faces today.
We are the problem when it comes to climate change. With the use of so many deadly fuels and other chemicals, we have really damaged the earth. Because of the climate change, we are also experiencing loss of animals and their natural habitats. The climate has affected our food supply as well as other natural resources we are dependent on.
Food and water is another issue that the world faces. We are short on water and short on natural food. We have damaged the earth so much that much of our ability to grow many crops has failed. Water is scarcer than ever in many dry regions. There is also an issue with the use of water bottles. We use so much plastic and don’t recycle our water bottles enough, which damages the planet.
The population growth has increased immensely in the past 50 years. The population in the U.S. as of April 1st, 200 was 281,421,906 according to the U.S. Census of 2000. Today the population of the U.S. is already at 305,234,309. That is an incredible increase of people and is definitely not healthy for our earth.
The exhaustion of natural resources is probably the number one issue of the world. The use of oil and water are always growing and the supply cannot keep up with the demand of the world. If everyone were to cut back on their oil-use, there would be that much more for tomorrow.

They are so many things that is ruining our planet and something needs to be done. I understand though that it is very difficult to change peoples habits to support our earth. Since many people are ignorant and careless, we are only progressing slowly.
Hey i was going to use that picture for my blog too! Ya the world is a scary place now days. It hard to think about what the future is going to be like with all these scares of climate change, over population, and limited resources.
We definitely should be taking better care of our earth. It is the environment we live in and we shouldn't take it for granite.
Yes I agree, some people are destroying the place in where they live without knowing. I wish people could start caring about our community and start helping to make it better.
I am just as concerned as your are about the global warming, energy resources and pollution problems that we face in today's society, but I would have liked to see you give some suggestions about should be done because a lot of people can recognize that there is a problem, but not that many people step up with a solution. I'm sure that if peopel really committed and got together they could devise a solution.
Changing "tomorrow's future" is going to take a LONG time to get everyone to live green. Now, I'm not trying to 'diss' the whole talk about green living because I am big on green myself, but realistically I think it'll take 30 years until we see nothing but 'green talk'. Until then, our generation needs to concentrate on helping our planet than to harm it.
Wow you provided a lot of great information about sustainability that I didn't know about! It definitely makes me think of what I can do to help our planet.
I liked how you listed a lot of the resources we are wasting and then gave the number one problem: the waste of natural resources. I also was surprised to see how much the global population is increasing.
i totally agree with you that everyone needs to love the world they are in, but how can we encourage everyoneto do that. i agree that it would be better for mankind if all of us cared
its all a bunch of hippie stuff to me, but i think that you did a great job explaining the information.
